Iran & The Church in Prophecy

March 9, 2026 by Dwayne Byerly Leave a Comment

Greetings in the name of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, King Jesus.  This month on the world scene, things have definitely “come in like a lion,” as the saying goes. Economic sanctions did not quench Iran’s hunger for a nuclear weapon.  In fact, Iran has put the development of weapons and the destruction of Israel before the needs of its people since the 1980s, after the overthrow of the Shaw. After decades of unsuccessful diplomacy, there has been new civil unrest that has led to tens of thousands of civilian deaths. The God of heaven has declared, “That is enough!”

This world is in a spiritual war.  It began when Lucifer declared war on God and attacked heaven with a third of the angels he had deceived.  Jesus saw Lucifer hurled from heaven to the earth like lightning by the Archangel Michael.  Since then, his name has been known as Satan, which means the adversary of God.  The war was moved to the earth and still rages today.

And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. –Revelation 12:7-9

Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. –Revelation 12:12

And He [Jesus] said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”  –Luke 10:18

The book of Revelation has three tenses: past, present, and future (Rev. 1:19).  So, do not be deceived into thinking that it is all future.  The war rages here on the earth.  Throughout history, we’ve seen the spiritual conflict manifest as physical wars.  The current conflict involving Iran is one such example. God is sovereign over nations; He establishes kings and removes them (Dan. 2:21).

In 1979, the Ayatollah Khomeini took power under the influence of Islam.  Religion is the means by which the Great Harlot of Revelation has controlled people throughout time (Rev. chapter 17). She has led evil empires into adultery against God by using this mighty tool (Hos. 3:1; Rev. 17:5). The book of Revelation refers to these empires as a “beast” with seven heads and ten horns (Rev. 17:3).

Spiritual wars have real-world casualties. We can look at the example of Jesus and His disciples; apart from the Apostle John, all of the original disciples suffered horrific deaths, including Jesus Himself. World Wars I and II resulted in the deaths of millions, both civilian and military. However, in both wars, evil was ultimately defeated, allowing millions to live in freedom today as a result.

The main character used by God in these recent spiritual battles, including those involving Iran, is the United States of America, the peacemaker. God has placed presidents in office who had to make the difficult decisions to sacrifice the blood of our men and women to establish peace for ourselves and for others. This is reminiscent of what Jesus did—shedding His blood for the peace of those who would believe in Him.

I opened this letter by mentioning that March comes in like a lion. Who could have anticipated that it would be the strong young lion of the merchants of Tarshish (the United States of America, as referenced in Ezekiel 38:13) and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Israel) coming together against Iran?

What is happening in the world is much bigger than most people realize. It is not just the future at stake, but the destiny of all eternity coming to pass.  Each of us plays a vital role in God’s plan. Though you may think, “What can I do?  I’m just one person,” remember that you can do the will of God. This means imitating Jesus—not foolishly, but biblically. One battle you help someone win can save a nation.

Read the Book of Esther.  By the end of Esther’s account, you’ll find Israel celebrating the saving of their nation with the festival of Purim.  This month, Israel is honoring that same holy day, as Iran is temporarily removed as a threat in trying to destroy Israel once again after 2,500 years.  Yes, it was in Iran where Esther’s miraculous act of saving her people took place.

The Iranian people are precious to God; they are the ones He instructed Jonah, the preacher who was swallowed by the gigantic fish, to preach repentance to.  Yes, God is using people like you and me, even today in Iran, to preach not only repentance but salvation.  GOD CHANGES NOT!

The opportunity for spreading the gospel (Good News) is wide open. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  The opportunity for freedom is in Iran in a big way, for the Spirit of the Lord is there!  Such is a precursor of Revelation 18:4: “And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ’Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.’”

Iran is completely destroyed in the Ezekiel 38 war by God’s wrath. Although it is not yet time for God to pour out his wrath, I see what’s written in the Bible about this war coming to pass, which means this event is closer than ever!  God loves the Iranians so much and is shouting from the heavens and the mouths of Christians: “Come out of darkness and into the Kingdom of My Son Jesus!”

God loves you, too!  If, for some reason, you have found yourself bound, He wants you to turn and run to Him.  He will set you free.  Just ask Him.  Say, “Come help me, Jesus.  Be my leader out of this darkness.” If you do, I know He will come and lead you and be your Lord, if you will let Him.  The freedom offered is not just for Iran, but God is pouring out His Spirit everywhere for everyone. Tell someone about Jesus and lead them to the Lord of their Salvation:

“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
 —Romans 10:9-10

If they believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that Jesus died on the Cross and paid the price for their sins, they will receive that new life.  Do it.  Ask someone today.  It is part of your reasonable service.  If you do, you will see a supernatural move of God.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We are believing for proper studio equipment and updates for our social media and website, along with help from others who can come alongside us. The estimated cost for these improvements is $10,000. Michelle and I have personally contributed $3,000 to get started. We appreciate you keeping this aspect of Jesus’ ministry in your prayers.

I’m praying for you and your family’s health, prosperity, protection, and strength.  Until next time remember . . . Jesus is coming soon!  Be ready and be looking!

Daily Scripture

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Born Again?

You must be born again to go to heaven. Jesus said “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." To do this all you have to do is call on the name of Jesus. When you BELIEVE in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord you will experience the new birth.
