Greetings in the name of King Jesus, the Holy One who set up our kingdom. Our kingdom is a kingdom of glory. Autumn is such a wonderful time to see that glory.
As the world around us is influencing multitudes to be sucked into darkness with sin and confusion (including some Christians), it is evident that as believers we must have a “world view” that is in line with the Bible. The phrase “world view” causes me to think about how we view the world. Many may say the world is cruel, hard, dangerous, cold, or small, while those more optimistic may say the world is beautiful or a stage, a blank canvas, a playground, or it’s in your hands. However, none of our opinions about the world amount to a hill of beans. This world belongs to God!
The apostle Paul tells us that “you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind” (Eph. 4:17). The information that has been formed in your mind determines the way you live and walk out your life. This information creates your world view. For example, if you grow up with horse thieves, you will most likely see it as an acceptable way of life.
Yet, within these Scriptures, we see that the natural mind has futility; Paul says it is devoid of truth and appropriateness, and it is perverse. Therefore, God tells us we should be “renewed in the spirit of our mind“ (Eph. 4:23)by learning about Christ (the presence of God). Some do not go very far in their education of Christ.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
–Romans 12:1-2
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. –I Corinthians 9:24-25
If this pursuit is not done with purpose and persistently moving toward God, you will slowly be pulled into the great darkness of deception that is rapidly covering the earth. Yes, it is that strong; even the very elect can be deceived (Matt. 24:24). In these End Times, God’s World View is the only one that counts. His view gives hope, faith, love, and confidence in a future that is truly wonderful. It also reveals that having your way of living, by His Word, allows you to operate in His kingdom with the full weight of heaven behind you now in this current day. Man, we need that!
