Greetings in the majestic name of Jesus, the Truth. Happy New Year! It’s time to hit the reset button. Well, we cannot reset the events and circumstances around us as much as we wish we could, and it may surprise you that we cannot pray them away, either. What we can pray for is the wisdom of God to see us through these circumstances or to change them. What we need to reset this year is our thinking and the way we react to our world around us. This is done by turning back to the Creator of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). Repenting is something all of us need to do, no matter who we are—we are not perfect.
Repent means to turn around and go the other direction—the direction of the only perfect one, Jesus. A new year, or a new day for that matter, gives us an opportunity to check our direction and look into the perfect law of liberty, which is the Word of God, the law of love.
But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).
— James 1:25, AMPC
Romans 12:2 tells us; “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” When we refuse to be conformed to this world’s way of thinking or what we think is right, WE can be the proof of a good, acceptable, and perfect God. That is what you were created to be and do. It is the purpose of your life. You were created in His image and for His purpose, so that the world would know that God loves them (Gen. 1:26, John 17:23). Soul winning is the greatest part of End-Time Prophecy, and it’s our reasonable service to help bring it to pass (Rom. 12:1).
You must be vigilant to chase God, for you have an adversary. He is the one that brings everything bad into your life (John 10:10). He desires to steal the law of liberty from you so that you won’t know how to think or act in order to be free when circumstances arise. It is the Word of God he steals. When he steals the Word, he kills your relationship with God. God’s presence seems far from you, drawing you out from under the secret place of the Most High and making you more vulnerable to attacks. This position allows your adversary opportunities to destroy anything and everything in your life.
Brothers and sisters, friends and family, this is what we are seeing all around us today—it is DECEPTION at work. In 2023, this deception will become greater. How do I know? Because Jesus prophesied that deception would increase in the days before His appearing. Many Christians will also be deceived. In fact, Jesus prophesies that in these Last Days, even the very elect may be deceived IF they don’t continue in the commands of God (Matt. 24:24).
In John 10:10, Jesus reveals the process our adversary takes (steal-kill-destroy), and by doing so, he ruins the abundant life Jesus came to give us. Christians may not lose their Salvation as far as going to hell (although some could), but it will seem like hell on earth. Jesus also warns not to let anyone steal your crown, so this can affect your eternal life also; we should be crowned kings and priests to our God as our reward.
“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”
—Revelation 3:11
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.
—I Timothy 4:1-2
Anything that leads you away or causes you not to desire God’s Word or ways is a seducing spirit teaching you things that devils practice. If you think such teachings are only diabolical and heinous you may be deceived already. When you allow yourself to be conformed to these teachings, your conscience becomes seared. This causes you not to feel the leading of the Holy Spirit, who is your teacher, counselor, and guide—the One who is called alongside you to help you. Like a hot iron scars the skin and deadens it to the touch, the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit will not be felt. This is a perilous place to be, and many are there now, Christians and non-Christians alike.
Having a seared conscious comes from giving attention to voices and views other than God’s. The news, social media, political parties, friends, and family are always used by seducing spirits. And when people are defiled, they defile others. Bad company corrupts good morals (1 Cor. 15:33).
The belief system that surrounds people with a pure heart is pure; however, for those who have been defiled, their thinking is corrupt, and they don’t believe the pure Gospel. They believe things would be better another way . . . their consciences and minds are corrupt, and they have become reprobate in their thinking. In other words, they are unfit to make a good or godly decision; they support and do things God would never approve of, yet claim to be in a close relationship with Him (Titus 1:15-16).
When people refuse and ignore God’s Word and ways long enough, He will lend them over to a reprobate (or corrupt) mind—just as He did with those committing sodomy (Rom. 1:28). Their corruption caused them to make many bad decisions because, again, a reprobate mind is unfit to make good decisions. They lost common sense. Today, evil is called good and good evil, just as it was prophesied in the Word. People who are lent over to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils dress up evil and corruption. They call evil good, love, and morally right when actually such deceptions are tearing apart the fabric of society.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
—Isaiah 5:20
We must not be deceived and maintain a clear conscience. Paul tells Timothy to hold fast to faith and a good conscience which some have let go of, and their lives become a wreck (I Tim. 1:19).
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
–I John 3:21-22
In these last days, we will have to call on God to fulfill His promises to us. He is our Savior, correct? Our ideas and ways will not be enough to see us through. We must have a pure heart and clean hands to receive blessings from the Lord and right standing with Him (Psalms 24:4-5). Take time to get right with God because when something evil comes your way, you may not have time to do so.
Those who chase after the Lord will see great things this year, even in the midst of adversity. We are already planning Impact America Crusades with Tim Sutton Ministries and have greater openings to preach the Gospel. The Last Days are all about soul-winning and helping people to be ready for the coming of Jesus.
