The prophet Isaiah declared that darkness would cover the land and gross darkness on the people. When you’re in the dark, it’s almost impossible to tell what is happening around you. Bible Prophecy is a light that shines in a dark place (2 Peter 1:19-21). We need that light as darkness makes for dangerous times and surroundings.
This darkness is not physical only, but spiritual. It causes the hearts of men to be drawn away from God and led down a pathway of destruction: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it” (Matthew 7:13). In Second Timothy chapter 3, we see that all the conditions of the prophesied perilous times concern the traits of men.
If you listen to the news, they report that mass shootings are at an all-time high. Scripturally, what is on the rise is the cultivation of reprobate (or depraved) minds (Rom. 1:28), which is a mind unfit to make good or common-sense decisions. The New Living Translation states that these people will do things that “should never be done.” All of these shooters fall into that category. (Praise God, that we have the ability to renew our minds and wash them with the Word of God to protect us in these End Times (Rom. 12:2; Eph. 5:26)). Romans chapter one gives insight into those with reprobate minds:
For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. —Romans 1:20-21
God’s invisible attributes in this world are clearly seen and reveal there is a Creator. Yet, those with reprobate minds refuse this reality. Not only do they refute God, but they do all they can to suppress Him. They battle to keep Jesus out of schools, government, workplaces, and even churches—yes, churches.
There are churches that do not want you to use the name of Jesus, claiming that His teachings are too harsh and are not to be read. Some do not allow the Holy Spirit to move supernaturally to heal, deliver, and save. This is the influence of antichrist spirits working feverishly because Jesus is coming soon. Those in their control are God-haters. They are unthankful for the gifts God has given them to thrive on this earth, and they are incapable of producing any thoughts or ideas that are useful in this world.
Take gun control, for instance. The topic is always brought to the surface when a shooting happens. It is a futile thought to think laws can stop murder. No gun, knife, rock, or cross has ever murdered anyone. Only people murder people; they become wicked in their feelings and mind. Their foolish hearts are darkened.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator . . . and even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind [“reprobate mind“ KJV], to do those things which are not fitting. — Romans 1:24-25, 28 NKJV
It is their thoughts and lusts that lead them into wickedness and darkness. Becoming sexually perverted in all ways dishonors the very creation of God, the human body. God set forth the truth of a human; they are either a man or woman. The wicked have turned that truth into a lie, not giving any attention to the knowledge of God’s truths in His Word. Be careful that you pay attention to the Word of God. God’s Word is truth (John 17:17).
When God’s truth is ignored long enough, He gives a person over to a mind incapable of making common-sense decisions. Know that decisions made with the knowledge of God and His Word will keep you from all the following actions:
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful. —Romans 1:29-31 (emphasis added)
The unprovoked murder we see today lies within these verses. Many of these actions (envy, debate, unmerciful, deceit, etc.) can lead to murder. When reading Romans Chapter 1, verses 20-32, one clearly sees that sexual sin is a factor. Recent shootings were carried out by men or women with reprobate minds who couldn’t determine whether they were men or women. How horrible and tormenting it must be to be so confused by Satan; it has to affect how they see everything and everyone.
However, the same gender façade and sexual perversion is being taught in our schools and some churches at an elementary level. It’s promoted and encouraged by half of our country’s political parties. The young woman shooter in Nashville was in her late 20s, so this perversion was certainly promoted during her formative years, along with millions of other young people still being exposed today to these doctrines of devils. Sadly, we can expect to see this perversion grow with the loss of life, be it murder or suicide. That is not doom and gloom but a part of what happens in these End Times.
We are not expected to simply accept these truths but stand for the Word of God—particularly with our own family members; however, those deceived by any of these doctrines need our help. They need our love and compassion—the very compassion of Jesus. We cannot afford to practice, promote, or approve these antichrist doctrines or go along with insensible ideology. Let’s look at different translations of Romans 1:32. The Apostle Paul writes:
Though they are fully aware of God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them themselves but approve and applaud others who practice them. —Romans 1:32, AMPC (emphasis added)
They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. —Romans 1:32, NLT (emphasis added)
And it’s not as if they don’t know better. They know perfectly well they’re spitting in God’s face. And they don’t care—worse, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best! —Romans 1:32, MSG (emphasis added)
We have a biblical responsibility to be salt and light. As members of the glorious church, we must vote against these unrighteous doctrines in every arena. There is a Judgment Day when you will stand before the Holy God in a clean place. You will have to answer for your every vote of support for an antichrist agenda. Thank God for a merciful Father and Jesus. Thank God for repentance.
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. —2 Chronicles 7:14
God’s people are born-again believers, yet some have wicked ways that support wicked ideologies. We must repent as individuals. We all want healing for our nation, but some are not humble enough to admit they have been wrong.
This is a strong letter based on God’s Word. We must let the Word conform us and not try to conform the Word. I write this in love and pray for you often. May God use you and bless you while building the Kingdom of God. There are great things ahead for those who will seek the Kingdom of God and His right standing (Mat. 6:33).
Until next time, remember . . . Jesus is coming soon! Be ready!
